EP Counselling Services is a private counselling practice located in Port Lincoln. The Counsellors at EP Counselling Services work together to ensure that clients feel safe and respected throughout the Counselling process.

MEET KATHLEEN WARE

Kathleen Ware is a Professional Counsellor and Reality Therapist. She has been working as a Counsellor for the last twelve years. She has completed a Communications degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and is fully certified by the William Glasser Institute of Australia as a Reality Therapist. In addition, Kathleen has also completed training in ‘Mindfull Awareness Parenting’, Grief and Loss, ACT, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma. Kathleen is the Director of EP Counselling Services. Kathleen is passionate about helping people to develop healthy relationships with themselves. She believes that if people have a good relationship with themselves, they are then able to have good relationships with others.

Kathleen uses a variety of therapeutic approaches when working with clients, adjusting the approach to suit the needs of the client. These approaches include Reality Therapy, Lead Management, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfullness practices and Art Therapy. She sees the Counselling relationship as a collaborative one.

MEET HEIDI WOODSTOCK

Heidi is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Counsellor, she has a Masters Degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Counselling. Heidi has worked as a counsellor for seven years and obtained accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker in 2021. Heidi has completed additional training in Acceptance and Commitment therapy in the areas of trauma, anxiety, depression and grief and loss.  She has also has training in Circle of Security Parenting, Mindful Awareness Parenting, Peaceful Kids program, Cognitive and Behavioural therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Heidi has completed additional study in women’s mental health and self-care during and post pregnancy. During this time in a women’s life she is more vulnerable to facing challenges that affect both her physical and mental health. Heidi accepts GP referrals for Pregnancy Support Counselling, Medicare rebates apply.

Heidi’s counselling approach utilises the wisdom that all people know what is best for themselves, and also offers evidence based strategies to aid clients during the challenges they are facing. Above all, Heidi places high importance on empathy and trust in building a beneficial therapeutic relationship with her clients. Creating an environment of trust aid clients in feeling safe enough to open up and explore what is causing suffering in their lives. This in turn helps clients to identify their values and goals so that they can move toward being the person they want to be and live a life that is fulfilling and meaningful.

Heidi accepts GP referred Mental Health Care Plans and provides Medicare rebates.
