The counselling relationship
- The Counselling relationship is a collaborative one in which the Counsellor and Client work together.
- EP Counselling Services cannot provide a triage service or emergency response. For all emergencies, please contact 000, Port Lincoln Adult Mental Health Services: 131465, Port Lincoln Child Adolescent Mental Health Services: 1800 819 089 or Lifeline: 131114.
Session times and phone consults
- Session times will be negotiated individually. If you wish to change session times, please contact Kathleen Ware and allow a minimum of 24 hours’ notice prior to any change;
- The duration of a session is 55 minutes; If additional time is required, this may be negotiated on the day and charged on a pro-rata basis;
- Kathleen Ware’s standard session rate is $85.00;
- If you have an NDIS approved plan, you will be covered under that plan for the cost of the session; The standard NDIS session rate is $95.00;
- Kathleen Ware is available for phone and video consultations, however, they need to be booked and are charged at the standard session rate of $85.00.
- Consultation with other professionals may be charged on a pro-rata basis;
- Kathleen Ware’s preferred contact is via text or email. Where practicable, Kathleen Ware will endeavour to return messages and emails during office hours Monday to Friday (outside of session times).
- Sessions are by appointment only.
Cancellations
EP Counselling Services requires 24 hours’ notice for cancellation of a session. If 24 hours’ notice is not given, a cancellation fee may be charged. In unforeseen circumstances, please notify Kathleen Ware as soon as possible.
Payment
- Invoices will be raised by EP Counselling Services on the day of the session;
- If you are covered by the NDIS, please discuss payment terms with EP Counselling Services prior to the first session;
- EP Counselling Services requires payment on the day of the session either by cash or electronic funds transfer. If payment is made by electronic funds transfer, the fee must be paid within 24 hours of the session. If there are additional charges, an invoice will be raised as soon as practicable;

Confidentiality
- Terms of Confidentiality are discussed in the first session;
- The relationship between Client and Counsellor is a confidential relationship. The only exceptions to this include mandatory notification and the safety of the client.
Complaints and feedback
- If you would like to provide feedback to EP Counselling Services, email or written feedback is welcome;
- As professional Counsellors and health care workers, EP Counselling Services is ethically bound to follow the ‘Code of Conduct for Certain Health Care Workers’. If you would like to make a complaint, please refer to the complaints process set out in the above Code of Conduct made under the ‘Health and Community Services Complaints Regulation of 2019’. You can request a copy of the code from EP Counselling Services or download a copy from www.hcscc.sa.gov.au. A copy of the Code is clearly visible at EP Counselling Services.
